WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP (PMU)?
Permanent makeup is an advanced cosmetic technique that enhances your natural features using specialized pigments gently implanted into the skin. Treatments such as brows, eyeliner, and lip blush are designed to create a soft, refined look that mimics perfectly applied makeup!
IS PERMANENT MAKEUP TRULY PERMANENT?
While permanent makeup is technically considered permanent, many would say it is more "semi-permanent." Over time, the pigment naturally fades as the skin renews itself. Most results last between 1-3 years, depending on skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and skincare routine.
WILL THE PROCEDURE LOOK NATURAL?
How natural your results are will depend on your preference. Going more bold is also an achievable option if desired. It is common to start more subtle, and add more boldness at the touch up appointment. It is important to consider your facial features, skin tone, and personal style when choosing our shape, colors, and saturation levels.
DOES THE PROCEDURE HURT?
Client comfort is a priority. A professional topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure to minimize discomfort. Most clients describe the sensation as very mild. (I even fell asleep!)
HOW LONG DOES THE APPOINTMENT TAKE?
Appointments typically last 2-3 hours. This allows time for a detailed consultation, custom design and mapping, pigment selection, numbing, and the treatment itself.
WHAT IS THE HEALING PROCESS LIKE?
Initial healing usually takes 7-10 days, during which the treated area may appear slightly darker before softening to the final color. Complete healing and pigment settling occurs over 4-8 weeks.
WILL I NEED A TOUCH-UP APPOINTMENT?
Yes. A perfecting session is required approximately 8 weeks after your initial treatment. This allows us to refine the shape, adjust color if needed, and ensure beautifully balanced results.
HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?
Results vary, but most clients enjoy their permanent makeup for 1-3 years. Periodic color refresh appointments help maintain the vibrancy and definition of your results.
WHO MAY NOT BE A CANDIDATE FOR PERMANET MAKEUP?
For safety reasons, treatment may need to be postponed if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, experiencing active skin conditions in the treatment area, undergoing certain medical treatments, or have recently received cosmetic injectables in the area.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
For best results, please avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications for 24 hours before your appointment. Avoid tanning, strong exfoliants, or retinol products near the treatment area for several days prior.
WHAT AFTERCARE IS REQUIRED?
Proper aftercare is essential for beautiful healed results. This includes keeping the area clean, applying the recommended healing product, and avoiding swimming, saunas, excessive sweating, and makeup on the treated area during the healing period.
CAN PERMANENT MAKEUP BE REMOVED?
While permanent makeup is designed to fade gradually over time, saline removal or laser removal are excellent options to lighten previous ink in the skin.
IS PERMANENT MAKEUP SAFE?
Yes. Treatments are performed using sterile, single-use tools, high-quality pigments, and strict sanitation standards to ensure the highest level of safety and care.
